Iris Abt: Budget Ecuador was the worst experience with a rental car company in my life.I got the car in Guayaquil. I paid almost 200 Dollars per day for a full size 4x4 and got a 4 year old Chevy Trailblazer with 134000km on the odometer. The back windscreen wiper was obviously disfunctional. The front ones failed as soon as it started raining. By the time I reached Quito, the dashboard went dead whenever the light had to be on.I was told to drive to the Budget place in Quito to get new windscreen and back wipers.When I got there, the people knew nothing or pretended it. After some phonecalls to the agency which booked the car for me,I was offered to spend my day looking for the parts myself or come back in the evening.In the evening, they only had windscreen wipers for the front. They had no wiper for the back. The wipers for the front were not the correct ones but worked reasonably.They never even looked at the dashboard.The car asked for oil, but they said it was okay.I wasn't offered a replacement car. They didn't seem to have anything compatible.Two days later a warning for the 4wd lit up.I looked at the Spanish only manual.The differential seemed not to work. I said dangerous. I could only use the car 2wd.The agency thought they might bring me a working car. What a joke. They just said that the car had been serviced before I got it.Two more days and the hand break failed.The kick down became sluggish the day I handed the wreck in in Cuenca.The car was prepaid. Bad choice. The car was not worth what I paid as rental.I will never rent anything from Budget anywhere on this planet.

Andres: Car rental agency would not provide a rental without me agreeing to pay an exorbitant amount for their unnecessary Collision Damage Waiver coverage. I had booked through Priceline and this was never disclosed. If you are an international traveller, you may already get coverage through your credit card, which requires that you decline their CDW. However, this Budget location would not provide the rental without me paying their unnecessary CDW coverage despite there being zero disclosure of this unnecessary policy at booking. I was left with no option other than to pay for coverage I don't need, or no rental car. Avis next door has no such ridiculous policy. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I left angry and without a car. There was not even an apology for the lack of disclosure. Avoid.
Diana Arias: False advertisement, they make you pay a mandatory insurance fee and don’t take third party credit card insurance. This is not disclosed until you come to the counter.

Cesar Moyano: It took an hour to receive a car. There are no signs where it says where to park. Terrible customer service. After complaining about the delay, the chubby lady took even more time. I take 3 or 4 photocopies of my ID just to take longer in the service. In the end he told me that I had to sign according to the signature on my ID. I told him that I no longer had patience and he told me to be careful that there were cameras at the airport. I suggest the manager watch today's recording March 21, 2019 at 7:00 pm. And to top it all off I went back to ask him for an invoice and he didn't give it to me. He told me he was sending it to me by mail. I think I'm entitled to have a copy printed for me but she was busy laughing at me with a friend. I have rented cars in all the countries where I go and it takes me a maximum of 2 minutes to return the car. This time an hour, threat of camera and laughter behind my back.
Tony Risquez: Customer service leaves much to be desired, Budget people take into account training for their staff, they represent an international chain, more than 35 minutes to make the contract, 35 minutes to review and deliver the vehicle, for now I do not recommend Budget.

Jose Portillo: In our recent trip to Guayaquil we rented a van from Xplore Car Rental and their customer service was by far the best customer service we got throughout Ecuador (I’m not exaggerating) They were attentive, honest, and super nice. Fabricio even offer to take us to the airport at no extra charge. The van was in really good condition, clean, reliable and fuel efficient. I would definitely rent from them again.

Xplore is also a five minute drive from the airport.The best part of my rental experience was working with Ivan. He is professional, courteous, and honest. Some highlights include:1. When we returned our rental, a rear light had a crack. Instead of immediately blaming and charging us, Ivan took the time to go through the initial inspection video he filmed when we first rented the car. He noticed that the crack was there before we rented the car, we had just missed it during the inspection. Ivan let us know and did not charge us.2. Ivan picked us up and dropped us off at the airport at no extra cost.3. Was always available to take our questions and concerns. Seriously, any time we called or texted with questions, Ivan promptly responded.Xplore is leaps and bounds ahead of the big car rental agencies. We had a 21 day rental and will definitely book with Xplore again.

He tracked down a automatic SUV for me, allowed me to extend my time, came in on Sunday evening, his day off, to do the return then took my wife and I with all our bags to the bus station. The company gave us one with a bigger engine when we told we wanted to drive in the mountains as well. We did not have to pay any extra. They brought the car to the airport and everything could be arranged there. The guy that brought the car spoke several languages which made it easier when he explained the car to us. The car was almost new and was comfortable, tidy, clean and neat. We had the best vacation with it. Peter Uttero: Maylin did a fantastic job helping us with our rental. She was detailed with her explanations of vehicles, insurance options, mileage, etc. Would highly recommend sixt based off our experience with Maylin alone. Car was very nice and clean. Vehicles all appear to be pretty new and have all the modern amenities anyone should want or need.

Alex Perez: Traveling from the States to Ecuador for the first time and Sixt took great care of me start to finish! Prices were competitive and similar to other companies. Their stall was located right in the terminal and I picked up the car in the parking lot 50 yards away. I had absolutely zero hassle getting the car.
