She was detailed with her explanations of vehicles, insurance options, mileage, etc. Would highly recommend sixt based off our experience with Maylin alone. Car was very nice and clean. Vehicles all appear to be pretty new and have all the modern amenities anyone should want or need.

No GrandVitara's left so I got a DongFeng (DogSh-t) - nice enough, but no power for the mtn's. Bigger some yes, but not same-same. Harder to park.With regard to the other reviews - seems to be a theme. Listen folks you're not renting a car in Minneapolis where I can walk through jump in anything I'd like, get scanned at the gate, and drive away. This is a smaller operation that rents many of it's cars at 2:AM when the International flights arrive. There's two dudes working, one's reasonably intelligent and speaks English, the other one moves cars around and cleans'm. Take lots of pictures, read your contract and try to remember you're not in Atlanta. It will take 30-60 minutes. If there's a line the guy will check in two people, close the kiosk, go out to the parking lot and settle the two into their cars, and come back for two more. It's the same at the National kiosk next door.If you're going to Quito (don't know how to plan this, but...), there is one day a week you cannot drive a specific license plate. Ex: Ending in 1 or 2 no driving on Mondays, 3/4 on Tuesdays, etc. The example my not be correct, but you get the jist. Do some homework. We found it no problem to leave the car parked because there is literally no where to park in Quito. I've found places in Paris and on Broadway but not Quito.It is super easy to get around. Cabs a everywhere (beware they will run you over), but they're cheap - starting flag $0.49. 10 Blocks $1.ish. Uber is great - catch your first and offer $20 cash for the day(Guay and Quito). S/he will circle the block until you come out of the market with your loot. Lots of female Ubers - I don't think women are allowed to get a cab license. Only an observation 'cause I didn't see any female cabbies.Back to Avis - very much on the up and up. Very professional and respectful. We used Booking.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car: what do users think?
Jane Dough: The process of renting the car was easy. What I don't like is the insurance trap they make you pull. And also to return the car in person they tell me that the car is fine, but after a while they send me an email that they had to wash the car and that it has a bad smell. Because before delivering the car they tell you that you have to wash it, as if that's my job. I don't like the bad business of this arrival at all. Realize that it is better to rent a car outside the airport because these people do not do proper business.
Matthew Bradbury: I recently made a reservation online for a car at this location. I arrived at the airport to find the Enterprise desk closed with a sign indicating to proceed outside -- where there was no one, with no number to call.After searching for their number online and calling them, I was told they had my reservation, but that there we no cars available and no one was available to assist me. They offered to take my number and call me back when a car would be available, but could not give me an estimated time, only that a car would be available within one or two DAYS.Ultimately, Enterprise left me stranded at the airport with no assistance or even so much as a suggestion what to do. From the tone of the person i was speaking with, she clearly wasn't interested in helping me with the situation they put me in. Fortunately, I was able to find a car through another company, however at a substantially higher rate than I had reserved through Enterprise.I have never had such a negative experience with Enterprise -- most locations offer very good service. I feel like this franchise branch is just terribly managed. Stay away!

Total scam, but what do you do when you arrive late and have no other reservations. They tell you some line about how they are an independant franchise and have their own rules. Chris Anderson: Tried to charge us 3x the price we had reserved on Expedia for an insurance policy. When we rejected the insurance as our card has insurance for rentals, they said we needed to authorize a $7000 hold on our card. We agreed, but they said our card was rejecting the hold. They also demanded to see the policy but then didn't print a copy, so that seemed bogus.Capital one support confirmed there was no request for an authorization on the card despite multiple "attempts" from europcar's call center card processor.Eventually we couldn't take the rental - it seemed like an attempt to force us to accept the policy, because Expedia's price is less than half of what they'd normally charge for the same car.

We booked a car for 11 days a couple weeks before our trip.At the counter, they first tried to charge us an 300$ extra for third party liability insurance, meaning that it is mandatory to purchase it in Ecuador. When asked for a legal proof, they could not answer. The lady at the counter was extremely unpleasant and we had to call her superior to discuss the matter. The person on the phone gave us a first discount (200$ for the aforementioned insurance), then a second (150$).We compared with other rental agencies who confirmed that this extra charge was a rip-off.When we asked for refund, they indicated that they would hold an amount from what we already payed (total amount 952$€).After another argument with the employee, we were allowed to get the car for the price we originally payed for.When we got back today to return the car, we were hoping to have a different impression.Too sad, the same lady again tried to charge us for extra toll fees that did not exist. Once again we had to argue and to prove that we payed and kept toll tickets scrupulously. 10 minutes later it was sorted out and the personal kept quiet because they were wrong.I never had such a bad experience with a rental agency. It is the worst customer service I ever lived.I hope this will help other travelers and tourist who chose to visit this beautiful country to avoid being welcomed in such a bad manner.Have a good trip !!

Neither of these two things were specified in the booking process or in the email confirmation. That's just poor business.

Iñigo Basurto: The worst car rental experience of my life. It is dangerous to rent a car in this company. After paying about 700 dollars for a 20 day rental, I went on a trip and when it got dark it turns out that I had no lights, nor did my windshield wipers work. Since I didn't have an Ecuadorian phone to call the company, I stopped in a town where they could change the lights and make them work for 10 dollars. The company refuses to refund the $10 to me. I am outraged, not only is it dangerous to rent in Álamo, but they also refuse to compensate you, not even for the repairs I had to do in the car to be able to continue the trip.

Read the story below if you want.Reserved an automatic a couple weeks in advance for when my plane landed late on a Saturday night. Not only did they not have a car ready for my reservation ready when I arrived, they had no cars period. Told me they would “probably” have one tomorrow night. Was lucky my hotel was kind enough to send us a van.Called Alamo’s corporate number at 8am ET the next morning to explain the situation and that it was absolutely necessary we have a car ASAP as it was our only method of travel to the cities we have plans and reservations in for the remainder of the trip. The rep I spoke with at least seemed concerned. She put me on hold called and the local office. When she clicked back over to me, she told me they were preparing a car and just needed to clean it. She told me they would call me in a few minutes, at most 30. This sounded good.An hour and a half goes by and there’s no call. The office numbers on their emails and Google don’t work either. Naturally. So I call the 800 corporate number again. This time I get sent to the “escalation team”. The rep also seemed very concern and said she was going to work on this. She told me she thought this was unacceptable and was very apologetic. She said she would personally email me and call me in the next hour. This was yesterday at 10am and I haven’t heard from her still.We decided just to go back to the office around 1pm. They told me they still hadn’t gotten a single car back since I was there the night before. Interesting seeing as I had been told they were cleaning one earlier that morning.We get a call again a couple hours later saying they have a car, brand new 2020, but it is manual. We said that is fine as we needed whatever we could get. We had tried other places at this point and they were out of cars. They said they would call us shortly when it was clean and inspected. We never hear from them. Four hours go by and we call and they tell us “they found a problem and can’t let us use it.” Hard to believe. But even if it were true, why wouldn’t you call and tell us that?? We told them we still wanted to keep our reservation and please let us know when we could a car comes in. We were told we are first on the waiting list.It’s now half way through the next day and I still haven’t heard anything from them. Luckily, we found a mom and pop rental place across town and have a car to travel. If we didn’t know people personally in Ecuador, this would have not happened. We would have been stranded and unable to participate in our plans while Alamo can’t give us a single call back or e-mail. It will be interesting to see if anyone ever follows up with me. If it were just the local office, that would be bad enough but it was the whole company. Two thumbs down.
Ernesto Cedeno: They did not have the car requested at the time for rental (an Automatic drive), asked us to come back half a day later for it. Very unprofessional, do not take rental request if you will not have vehicle.

Aldric AUER: Rien de tel qu’un souci mécanique pour tester le service d’un loueur de voiture. Bonjour Le dépliant imprimé avec le numéro de portable à joindre en cas de souci est faux. Une fois que vous avez la chance de les joindre sur un autre numéro, ils vous donnent des informations contradictoires et vous laissent dans la difficulté. Ils vous donne des rendez vous qu’ils n’honorent pas et quand finalement ils répondent, il ont 1h30 de retard sans aucune alerte alors que leur agence est à 15’... bref, nous déconseillons, le service est vraiment catastrophique.

They are lazy and they think we know each other inside immigration, I haven't been there for years and I don't remember. American Airlines invalidated its wheelchair service, my 3rd-age mom had to investigate inside. Bad American Airlines
